Rating and Risk Assessment

The Underwriting Workbench provides a dedicated environment for assessing risk, applying rating factors, and making informed acceptance decisions. It consolidates all relevant data — including risk details, loss history, external data enrichment, and referral notes — into a single screen so underwriters can evaluate submissions efficiently without switching between systems.

Rules Engine

C2MS features a configurable rules engine that automates rating calculations and referral triggers. Administrators define rating tables, loading factors, and minimum premium thresholds through the Rules Configuration interface. When a submission enters the system, the engine evaluates it against the active rule set and either auto-rates the risk or flags it for manual review based on predefined referral criteria.

Referral Management

• Automatic referral routing based on authority limits, risk type, and aggregate exposure

• Multi-level approval workflows with configurable escalation paths

• Inline annotations and decline reasons captured for audit and training purposes

• Real-time dashboards showing referral queue depth, average handling time, and conversion rates

Underwriters can access their personal queue from the workbench landing page or use the global referral dashboard for a team-wide view. Each referral item includes the full submission context, any system-generated warnings, and a decision panel for approve, decline, or refer-up actions.
