Under the Hood: The C2MS GoCardless Middleware (C2MS-GCM) 

Built using PHP 8.3, Laravel, and Filament, our middleware service is engineered for speed, maintainability, and scale. It acts as a dedicated microservice between C2MS, customer portals, and GoCardless.

• Asynchronous processing through Laravel events & observers 

• 100+ webhook events handled, ensuring data is always up-to-date

Purchase Flow: Streamlined and Intelligent 

A common and critical use case - the purchase flow - now works like this: 

1. User triggers a payment via the Portal or API 

2. C2MS-GCM validates & logs the transaction, linking it to the quote 

3. Payment link is generated, allowing the user to pay instantly via Open Banking 

4. Automatic Direct Debit enrollment is triggered based on configuration 

5. Webhook-based updates keep the system in sync asynchronously
